I was going through the paperwork of my Impreza WRX hatch last night and found something relating to Tracker. So I phoned them and they confirmed that it has one. But they also said that since it was over 10 years old I couldn’t have a subscription for it. Seems odd that they won’t support a device older than 10 years old but they were insistent.

However I don’t really want it, I was more thinking it could be a selling point when the time comes, but it sounds like that ship has sailed. So being curious I’d quite like to find it and remove it.

I’ve already had the dash and centre console apart to remove a non functioning Bluetooth car kit and I found the original Subaru/Sigma alarm but nothing else. I’ve removed the back seats and there’s nothing there either.

I assume I am looking for a small black box with a few wires and maybe a battery? I'll have another look under the dash but are there any other top tips for somewhere to look. I realise I’ve the potential to break lots of trim for no real gain, but I’m ok with that.

Interested to know the answer to this myself as somewhere on my Blob WRX is a tracker hidden away but not being used that is happily draining the battery if I park it up for anything more than a couple of weeks.
Like you I've searched for the obvious but not knowing what if should look like doesn't make it easy to find.

Generally they'll fit it somewhere discreet...but near to convenient power wires so they don't need to dismantle too much of the car. So sometimes passenger footwell (on cars that have one of their fuseboxes down there) or more often up behind the dash. They're pretty small (and black!) though, so may not stand out when you're rummaging around.

Know what you mean about draining the battery - for reasons to tedious to go into, my old car had 2 fitted and the battery would be flat within a few weeks without a trickle-charger.
