Hi there,
I’ve recently bought a Renault Grand Espace. It’s a 2007 3.5 V6 Initiale and has everything on it.
It all works and drives wonderfully and I’m really happy with it, except one thing - the built in Sat Nav.
It seems to be stuck on Cambridge (near where I bought it from).
I can program in new destinations to go to, and it seems to recognise them, but always starts the journey from Cambridge....not helpful when I live on the South Coast in Hampshire.
And when I’m not using it, but just driving normally at home in Hampshire, it seems to think I’m either in a field or on the M11 motorway (neither of which I am!!).

So, does it need reprogramming....and if so how?
Does it need a new disc?
Or should I buy a whole new unit?

In August I'm taking it to South of France for 3 weeks and really need it working by then.
Worst case scenario I’ll have to buy a stand-alone external sat nav....which one of those should I go for, A’s so many out there these days?!

Many thanks
Matt

Those symptoms would appear to relate to the GPS antenna on the roof, i have seen water ingress in many of the passive GPS units, with either a partial lock on satellites or using last known location,

That would be the place to start.

Just forget that it has sat nav and use Waze or Google Maps on your phone. Either will be infinitely better than a 2007 built-in unit.

As above - Sat Nav on something 10+ years old will be terrible anyway, even if you managed to reset it.
