Dash cam stops working

I have a nextbase 312gw which was hard wired by an auto electrician. I find that it only records at low speed and both the picture and charging light go out as I get faster. The charging light has only ever appeared blue. When I slow down picture and charging light come back on.
I think it’s a faulty unit or am I missing something in the setup. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to start with a definite
So I would suggest use your spare power cable
and for test purposes plug the power lead 1 end to cigar lighter or 12 volt outlet
the other to dash cam
if all now works its the hard wiring that is at fault

You were right. Thanks for your help. The problem could still be in the unit but it works correctly when connected by cig lighter. Will let you know how I get on. Cheers

Auto electrician now used a different feed and it works how it should. I’m not sure which feed would be speed related. Thanks again for your help.
