upgrading e46 m3 head unit

Hi, I'm looking at getting a single din head unit with screen for an E46 M3. There is already an aftermarket pioneer bluetooth radio installed which is connotected to the HK speakers. Does anyone know if this would mean I do not need to get a 5m quad lock extension cable to run from the boot as it should already be wired up? thanks
