MrsSE has got herself a Lupo (GTI, of course) - she wants a new stereo as the importers have fitted a Barry-spec flashing load of nonsense.

She quite fancies having a touchscreen with all the widgets such as DAB, sat nav, or the ability to have a picture of me gurning out of the dashboard at her.

There exist various Chinese double-DINs on the bay of evil, made my xTrons or similar, and they seem to do everything, and reading on here, some people are very impressed.

However, there's also things like this (random pick from Google, not specific) - https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-pioneer... - obviously a known make rather than eBay Chinese. Is there a way of getting something like that unit, then being able to USB/ Bluetooth/ etc her phone to it, so it would show on there if she had her satnav on her phone?

Budget doesn't allow for a full-on satnav DAB type from a known manufacturer...

It's a Samsung, Android, if that makes a difference...

What is the budget? That one you have linked to would probably do the job, but stepping up to something that has Android Auto integrated would probably be better.

I have got an iPhone and use a Pioneer SPH-DA120. This uses a standard Pioneer OS and Apple CarPlay. The Pioneer OS is probably similar to what is on the unit you linked to, it does the job, but it is messy and unintuitive.

The CarPlay OS has been fantastic - really easy access to phone and messaging functionality, music from the phone and Spotify and Nav from Apple, Google and Waze.

I think that the latest model has Android Auto as well as CarPlay. I haven't heard as positive reports about Android Auto as CarPlay (not trying to start a childish argument about platforms!), but I'd still think it would be miles ahead of the Pioneer OS.
