toyota yaris/vitz 2015 fitting radio
Discussion
Hello,
I recently acquired a toyota yaris 2015 and would like to put an aftermarket digital media receiver in. I have read about double din specification but I'm still not sure about if the size of the actual piece matters then. If anyone could please help me clear my confusion it'd be great. Also if anyone could suggest touchscreen media receivers with bluetooth that would definitely fit the car that would be awesome.
Thank you.

DIN is a standardised size for a car stereo (2" x 8"), double DIN is double the height but the same width (4" x 8").
First pick a head unit - go for a brand you've heard of e.g. Kenwood, Sony, Pioneer, etc. I'd suggest one with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto (depending on what phone you have). All HUs have bluetooth phone and music streaming but do you want a CD player? Do you want DAB? Or will you use your phone with the TuneIn app?
Then you'll need a facia adapter, wiring harness, antenna adapter, steering wheel interface... you can get these from a company called Connects2. It sounds very technical but it really isn't!

Honestly, the most difficult thing is finding a head unit with the functions that you want. Good luck!
