Hi all,
Im looking to buy a 2nd car as my partner and I both share our astra. We would really like an auto and I'm particularly drawn to the tiguan, but equally like the Golf/Passat estate (were looking to get something with a but more luggage capacity than our astra).
However, our astra has apple carplay/android auto and it's something that I think I'd struggle to live without now, so I'm just wondering what I'm going to loose in terms of system functionality by changing the headunit for an after market one. I know in some VW's with parking sensors that when you select reverse, the graphic pops up on the head unit to show what area of the car is setting the sensors off. I'm wondering if the trip computer is linked the to head unit and if by changing it, whether I will loose any functionality. Weve got a budget of 12k so we would be looking to get between a 2013-2015 tiguan.

Any ideas?

If you use a specialist installer they will be used to working with OEM headunit replacements and keeping factory functionality such as parking sensors, steering wheel buttons etc working.

I'd recommend Skipton Car Radio, he's the font of all knowledge on VW, in fact most car brands and is very reasonably priced.

I think you can specify/add those functions on the VW infotainment system, Must be MIB 2 model though, later car the better.
