fitting a new aerial
Discussion
My Honda Accord Estate has got an FM aerial which is on one of the side rear windows (it looks like a screen demister in an odd pattern)
This gives pretty poor reception - it'll be perfect for a while then just go to static for ages in places my other car (Saab convertible, no idea where the aerial is) gives good reception.
I've checked that RDS is on, but it just doesn't pick up enough signal to retune.
So, is it possible to fit a new aerial? The screen aerial connects to a small box of tricks (described as a sub antenna on parts list) behind the boot trim which in turn has a very thin wire heading off to the head unit - it's not the "normal" aerial type lead that i have seen on aftermarket aerials so I don't know if one would be compatible, or if i need some sort of adapter.
