Hi, I was hoping someone could help me identify this little module that I found behind the dash of a Peugeot 205 GTI. Intriguingly, the module has no external marking. It is a metal case with the innards set in a hard black resin. I am reluctant to unwrap the loom to find where the 4(?) wires go - possibly one goes to the tacho...?:

No replies to my first posting, so I thought I'd better start unraveling the loom.

There are four wires that go to the module, red, black, yellow and orange. The red and black provide 12v and chassis earth respectively, the yellow comes from Pin 12 of the Emerald K6 ECU (possibly tacho out?) and the orange goes to the tacho itself.

Any ideas?

Why not ask a dealer.

As the car has an aftermarket ECU and wires go between the ECU and the tacho then it may be a converter to allow the ECU to drive the original tacho.
