It’s been released a couple of weeks ago and just wondering if anybody has used it yet? If so, thoughts are most welcome.

I know it comes with a free 7 day trial which I will use but I’m expecting it to be a big ‘buggy’ at the moment as it’s so new and waiting a bit until the edges have been refined.

Thanks in advance.

Yes I’ve been using it alongside Waze, to see which I like best.

Visually I prefer Sygic to Waze - I find it clearer & less distracting. Traffic & speed cameras seemed to work Ok, although I suspect Waze is better for traffic. Stability was Ok for me too.

However in the end it’s Waze I’ve ended-up using day-to-day. The main reason for this was the routing on Sygic - I really didn’t get on with it: it kept sending me down small/narrow roads in order to cut a few yards off a trip when it would have been quicker to stick to a main road.

I’ll be keeping it on my phone though. It’s the only option available on Carplay which has proper offline maps so until TomTom release their Carplay product Sygic will be very useful for those times when there’s no mobile signal.

Would be interested to hear how you get on with it.

Thanks for the update.

What you’ve said actually puts me off Sygic. I’m currently using Waze but prefer Google Maps routing as I find Waze sends me down too many small roads to save a few seconds. If Sygic is even more extreme, it’s not what I’m looking for.

I think I’ll wait until the next update (they seem to update quite regularly) and then try the 7 day free trial.

What I’d like in the ideal world is Google Maps with Speed cameras included like Waze in CarPlay. I was hoping that Sygic (or TomTom when they pull their finger out in the new year) could offer that.

Thanks.

Looks like my ‘ideal world’ is being tested in ANZ. Google Maps with speed cameras.

Looks like it’s very early days but fingers crossed it’s successful and rolls out.

Well I’ve just given Sygic a try on CarPlay.

I drive about 250 miles in 24 hours and the routing algorithm is poor.

I found it stuck to main roads as much as possible and hugely increased my mileage and increase my time over a ‘normal’ route on google maps/Waze/apple maps.

I’ve now uninstalled it.

Thanks for the update - I think I'll stick with Waze at least until TomTom release their Carplay product. I find the Waze speed camera functionality quite poor but I'm starting to trust the routing now and the traffic functionality seems pretty good.
