Motor home inverter malarkey...
Discussion
Folks,
Just bought this.
It’s ace. Slightly rattly and slow, lots of fan quirks but the back is nicely done out. Only trouble is that the previous owner mainly used it on sites, whereas I’m more ‘Park it up wherever’.
Sooo, I was looking at 12v TVs when I realised that I’ve got an unused 22” lcd tv sitting upstairs. Wattage appears very low.
What would I reasonably need by way of an inverter to power this, the aerial amplifier and possibly (I’m going on a limb here) a Tassimo machine?

Have you got separate leisure batteries?
Don’t run the inverter from your main battery or you will drain it & then can’t start the van in the morning, also make sure the leisure battery has a split charger & diode so it can’t drain the main van battery. No problem getting an inverter big enough for your coffee machine but you will need a decent size leisure battery or two.
I bought a 1200 watt one from eBay for about £100 that does the job ok although the cooling fan is on all the time so we turn it off at night. Easy to fit and has a 4 pin plug, use an extension cable to give extra sockets if needed but watch the battery drain.
Don’t let the wife even think about using the hair dryer either!
