Porsche Cayman aftermarket head unit
Discussion
I’ve just bought myself an 07 Porsche Cayman and am looking to find an after market head unit to use Bluetooth for calls, music and DAB radio!
I don’t want to spend an absolute fortune, but definitely something I think the car needs!
If anyone has any experience and knows of a good one, please let me know!
Thanks!

What audio is in the car now? I had an '07 Boxster, with PCM and Bose. I looked at getting new audio, and it was going to cost close to a grand to have the Bose amp and head unit replaced. Seems that there isn't an easy way to just replace the head unit on a Bose setup.
What I settled for in the end was a Dension unit that added USB/iPod connectivity via the CD changer controls on the PCM head unit. Pretty straightforward DIY installation, just needs a power connection and plugging into the MOST fibre optic. I fitted it next to the CD changer/nav drive in the front luggage compartment.
The unit I fitted was a low spec one that I had previously had in a BMW. They also do them with Bluetooth connectivity for phone and music. Not sure if they do DAB.

These guys should be able to do that, the cost will be less for a CarPlay unit without integrated satnav too

I’ve been thinking of one of these:

Supposed to be plug and play and includes a box of tricks for optical decoding.

I had the same dilemma with a 2004 911. In the end I went for the alpine ezi dab - works well and much cheaper than the denison unit. There are a few drawbacks as it's FM transmitted but as long as i remember to hit the right radio button it takes calls, manages spotify streaming etc. Cost was around £200 fitted at an audio indi
