Hi All,

I've got a dash cam for the car, however, I'm just wondering about the placement...

I've got an Insignia Elite Nav which has rains sensors and high beam assist, so there is a huge housing underneath the rear view mirror which takes up a lot of windscreen space!

Where would be the best placement for the cam based on this?

Maybe to the passenger side of the mirror housing, that way it's not going to be particularly visible to you.

I have similar big lump with my car and found that most cams hung down into the passenger's view when they were positioned far enough left to avoid getting the mirror gubbins housing in the picture. I eventually chose a DDPai Mini 2 which is small, and has the lens the the left of the unit.

Why would you bother about blocking the passenger’s view? They aren’t driving.

Put it on the passenger side as near to the housing as you can without obscuring too much of the view of the camera.
