Have you tried opening it with just the key to see if the alarm does sound?

Does it go off straight away or is there a short delay?
I ask because with one of my cars if the car is opened with the key there is a short delay and the alarm will not sound if the key is inserted into the ignition and it turned on in that time.

I guess you could get a separate key fab from the dealership ? That might work, but something diy , I don't think that it's possible

Just get a key blade cut. Yes, the alarm will go off but they can switch on the ignition and that will deactivate the alarm. They won't be able to start the car as the key won't be programmed for the immobiliser.

did this but putting the key in ignition doesn't stop the alarm
