Recommend me a trickle charger.
Discussion
I look after a DB7 for a neighbour, The old Accumate 6/12 trickle charger has given up the ghost. There is a female TM plug hard wired into the car boot.
The new version of the same charger now has an SAE connector

Easy enough to buy an adaptor or solder a male TM in place of the SAE, but the reviews seem to be almost exclusively for motorbikes.
Just wondered if there was a better option for a car?
Thanks, James

no need for 6/12 for a 12v car
Some OptiMate 4s still have TM connectors (see links on your Amazon link)
they all maintain a healthy battery, but .8amp wont rescue a dead one.
i use .8amp ones for peace of mind, less risk than of overheating than the 5amp ones. all makes have had faults, so better when it's only <1amp imo.

I've used a CTEK for many years on my Murcielago. My DB9 came with an "aston" charger, which is a re-labelled CTECK (believe the same for Porsche and other prestige marques).

Ctek is the favourite but I would go for the 10 amp version as its got temperature compensation on a separate lead , but the MXS 5 ( 5 amp ) will still do the job . Ctek have a very good program that ends up in a monitored float charge in addition to a dedicated AGM battery setting which wont be needed for a older car but is essential for more modern cars . The 0.8 amp models are only intended for toys or very small motorbikes , the 5 or 10 amp models don't "overheat" as once they are into there program they only charge as required to maintain the battery .
