Hey,

I’m due to pick up my new car on Monday and I’ve been thinking of picking up a Dashcam as some extra protection and piece of mind. I’m not familiar with the Dashcam world or what brands are decent and which I should avoid but ideally I want something that’s discreet and not just hovering in the middle of my windscreen.

Additionally, I noticed that Halfords offer an install to ignition fitting service (£30), is this worth it and are any of the range of Dashcam on offer from Halfords worth picking up?

Any advice would be much appreciated smile

Thanks,

Cooper2

It depends on your budget. Got a Thinkware F770. Very discrete and so far no complaints.

I was looking to spend no more than £200 all in, which does rule out some of the more premium offerings but should still get me something decent.

This independent reviewer seems good.

I'd second this, he buys all his kit himself, isn't swayed by freebies and goes into great detail with tests, also have a look at the PH thread dedicated to this topic for other real-world experience.

Looks like a decent setup and the review was very detailed, my only worry would be that monster of a cable from the rear back to the front, no idea how I would manage to hide that lol!
