I've got an SLK 55 - 2005. As anyone with Merc's this era will know the COMAND unit is pretty woeful.

Having recently converted to Spotify Premium and losing the will to update my 20 year old iPod every time I find a new song I'd like a system that can integrate Spotify.

Are the chinese COMAND style headunits on ebay any good,do they support this Spotify functionality? Updated Maps would be nice and I use bluetooth for the phone a lot.

Something like this? But can't seem find it on ebay anymore, doesn't go into much detail on Spotify functionality.

TIA.

If your car has an aux in 3.5mm jack. I would just use this. Bonus if your car has a USB port (only required for power) if not, use a USB 12V adaptor.

I use this in my car, sound quality is excellent, and if you want a hands free controller, use this.

Use a Aux jack already, just looking for a nicer integrated solution that doesn't require all the faffing entering/exiting the car.

Lots of ways to achieve this. In my CLK (similar-ish unit to yours) I ended up fitting a fiscon pro unit, which added Bluetooth and better mobile support to the system.

I have a chinese comand a like in my vito, its pretty good, steering wheel controls and dash display works fine, spotify works well along with soundcloud, waze, youtube, amazon music and i plugged in an sdr usb stick to get dab as well. The built in amp was a bit weedy, but now its driving a jbl ms-8 it gives a clean powerful sound, no distortion or hiss like I got on a older chinese double din.
