In short, I want to play music using an aux cable. This is the only option due to it being a custom work vehicle, with no cd player, bluetooth etc.

I looked at ipods and they are stupid expensive. I can use my phone but the problem is, I dont want to drain the phone battery on playing music for 6/7 hours at a time. Also, with it being a smartphone, i'd technically have to handle the phone to change tracks, it's touchscreen and not a friendly interface. I'd be asking for a crash or facing the law.

I just need a music player that does nothing but play tracks, and ideally has physical buttons to press to change the track. Smaller the better. Is this what an ipod shuffle does? I've never bought one of these before so have no idea what to look for, but ideally as cheap as possible. Ive found shuffles for £30 on ebay but only 2gb. I'd like ideally 4gb or more.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Any mp3 player would work. You don't have t pay the Apple product surcharge

The SanDisk clip is a great little mp3 player. Good battery life too, though the flashier new screens might compromise that.
