What’s this stuck on my windscreen?

I’ve just bought a VW Golf mk5 R32 and this is stuck on the inside of the windscreen.
Is it part of the car, or a gps tracker or something?

I’ve tried Googling but I’ve not found anything that looks the same.





Any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like the DAB aerial on my golf mk6 R which has an aftermarket hi fitted

I have similar on my 5 series, never really known what it was for. It doesnt have a DAB radio.

Yup, aftermarket DAB radio aerial.

Ah ok, so likely a previous owner had a DAB aftermarket head unit fitted.

I was worrying it was something which may have had a less passive purpose, but if it’s just an aerial I’ll possibly keep it for a future head unit upgrade myself!

The Z4 will be going shortly

The R32 will hopefully be a worthy successor.
Just a lot of little tidy up jobs and subtle tweaks to get it right.
First thing was a stiff bonnet (needed lubricating), and this weird antenna.


Panholio, by any chance did you own a 306 GTi6 in the mid 00s?
