Golf MK5 head unit upgrade (need nav, BT phone, music)
Discussion
Thinking about downsizing from my C Class and buying my mother-in-law's old MK5 Golf GT Sport (2008). It's just for running to the office / customers and will be a fair bit cheaper.
The car is good but it's pretty basic on the inside - just the basic radio/CD. If I did get it I really need bluetooth phone and nav. I'd also like decent MP3 playback / A2DP or Apple car play.
What's the cost cost effective route to get this into the Golf? I've seen the RNS 510 options but fitted I've seen prices around £1300 which makes buying the car pointless. I'm up for aftermarket so long as it works properly and doesn't look terrible when installed.
I'd also like parking sensors. I can live with a stand alone kit for that but if there was a means to have it integrated into the head unit cheaply it'd be a bonus.

Go for an Apple Carplay system, that will give you whatever you need. New Pioneer looks good and the pics look like they are in a VW

Put some more effort into your research. £300-£400 for a good used one. Fit it yourself in 20 minutes (there are loads of step by step guides online)
£1300 is an absolute robbery.
