Hid kit installed now one side slightly flickers
Discussion
I use a work horse chevy captiva for all the dirty work. One of its jobs is taking my boy racing so it tows every week
The standard h7 low beams are a joke so I decided to fit some hid after a bit of research. I run led on my own bike which are great but not as good as hid for distance
Only issue I'm having is on the left side only I'm getting a tiny amount of flicker. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what was the fix? I googled it and initially it says the drl draw too much current. Next on my list is to cheng the old yellow lights with modern led ones.
Could it be the ballast? Is it faulty? Or am I missing something as its only one side and they are both definitely wired in perfect

Isn't your conversion an MoT fail under the new rules?
If I wanted a 'will this be legal under yet another law put in place here in England' I'd have put that as the subjectI have zero interest in that aspect of what I asking

Swap the ballast & bulbs around and see if the problem moves to the other side, if it does that’ll point towards the fault. If it doesnt, I’d guess one side isnt getting enough power.
That is my plan. I'm kind of hoping it's the ballast as I can get that replaced. If its power then it comes more tricky to sortThat's where I'm out of ideas. Hoping there's some experience on here that have had the same issue

Yes - HID Bulb in Halogen housing is a failure - Personally, I don't think it's too bad if you have a projector lamp,With regard to the actual issue, I imagine it is down to the ballast, as it is only affecting one side:- Have you tried an anti flicker capacitor? a fair number of the general Ebay kits come with these.
Out of interest, what kit are you using?

Just trying to save you some possible grief. I'll not bother next time.
Not a personal insult at you. Reading that back it read blunt and I didn't meant that. It was more the question on the light as I'm getting frustrated that a few things I've done today work but this isn't quite rightIf I was concerned on mots or that matter I'd have said but appreciate your thoughts

That's a good link. Last one I didn't think of is a old battery. It's the original 4 year old one so might be an issue. I'll swap the ballasts over first then try a few down that listhttp://www.xenonvisionhid.com/hid-lighting-trouble...
Really appreciate your help, thank you
The cheaper kits throw up all sorts of issues
Start with the basics check earth quality
Some kits need booster relays on power side
Also start engine before you turn the headlights on they need a good voltage
if no luck then at this point you will have to swop parts side to side to find faulty part
