I look after a foreign neighbour's DB7 and 06 plate petrol Mini whilst they are away.

The Mini needs a new battery, it still has the original BMW one in it with a vent tube.

Another neighbour is a manager at TPS so I normally get him to get my batteries for me. The replacement he has doesn't have a vent.

Is this an issue? Presumably it's just a sealed battery that doesn't need a vent, or is there something particular to BMW's that their batteries need venting?

Many thanks, James

Yuasa 3027 suggested from TPS, battery under the bonnet.

Some batteries are sealed maintenance free. Simple as that. Minis don't need a special battery. As long as the cranking power is enough, and it will fit, it will work.
