Thinking of having one of these fitted to my M4

I like the fact it can use the original key.

Any experiences of this model?

Hi Tia,

I replied to this earlier, but I included a link to a Ghost article on my site, and it got removed for violating PH rules rolleyes

If you go to my signature, I would suggest a quick read up on Autowatch's Ghost Immobiliser instead of the 695 alarm. The Ghost combats much more than the 695 does, including key theft & wireless key boosting (a must if you have comfort access in your F82 M4).

Let me know if you need anymore info on it.

Thanks, Jay

Thanks Jay, Ghost is just an immobiliser, i want to know if they are trying to get in.

New fad is to just open the car after they have cut open the front bumper and squirted crazy foam into the alarm, then stealing steering wheels/nav units. I don’t have comfort.

And Tia was ‘Thanks in advance’ smile

Ah okay - you must have heard about the black F10 M5 that was torn apart then.

The M series range of cars (M2, M3, M4, M5, M6) already have a Thatcham approved alarm, speaking as a fellow M owner myself, the case above was in my eyes very much done by professionals and should be rare, though I'm aware they targeted several vehicles.

We remove interior panels, parts and equipment daily from the interior of vehicles, and it takes some skill to know your way around a vehicle like the way they done in that theft, plus they done it at night when somebody would have had to been given them some source of light so they could get at all the intricate panels. Parts just don't fall off in a vehicle, they are clipped, secured and usually bolted or screwed in, with hidden screw after screw. I imagine they were at it for a good hour.

Hopefully the craze doesn't last too long, I imagine it's a small group who are highly sophisticated in doing this, once caught, it should be the end of that. Like I say, not many people know their way around a vehicle like that.
