Hey up,
I have been thinking about having the standard audio head unit ripped out of my astra "j" and replaced with an android din and also 2 screens clipped to the head rests for the kids (4 and 1), who are getting older and making road trips tedious as they no longer fall asleep.
The car, is an 61 plate Vauxhall Astra VX-line, which I know is not a popular PH car but is suitable for requirements for at least another 5 years.
I am able to remove the ICE when it comes to selling the car if I wanted to but the real question I am asking is, the whole cost is looking around £700, that is a front head unit and bracket at £400, plus rear hd screens at £300 for the pair, including installation.
What do you guys think?
I know many PH'rs must have some screens in the back of their car for their "angels", have they made a difference?
I plan on a few road trips hopefully European and the children get tired, (I love it personally, the road the driving) so something to keep them occupied is important.
They do not have tablets as I do try and limit their exposure to the internet and youtube with the incessant toy videos, and at least with an in car solution they cant carry the monitors off.
Worth it?

Have you considered something like this for the rear?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-7-Headrest-Monitor...
£80 for the pair seems good value (if they work and the headrest posts fit your seats)
Or similar from Amazon
