Hi,

I recently changed my car and the satnav uses a hard drive which I've now discovered can't have speed cameras added - my previous cars satnav used a disk so it was easy to add them as 'POI's.

So I want to use an (Android) app to provide audible alerts and I've tried a few, but they all go into hysteria-mode the minute they're near a camera, doing ludicrous distance count-downs (for blind drivers, perhaps?) with klazons, wailing sirens, buzzers etc - all very annoying.

I'd just like a simple app to run in the background, ie with the screen off, that allows me to configure the audio alerts to a simple beep or two. Most don't allow any configuration at all.

Anyone know of an app that allows that?

The ones I've tried are:
- Radarbot
- RadarBeep
- RadarDroid Lite - which was unable to load the UK database of cameras

Thanks.

The best android speed camera alert is from TomTom and called speed cameras.

You can either have a map display or a small overlay that just list the speed limit, your speed and an icon to report any cameras you see if not already in the database.

You can have visual or audio alerts.

Good luck.

PS - it’s free as well.
