Is it safe to tuck in a USB cable in the gap at the top of the A-pillar, if there is a curtain airbag immediately behind it?

The car in question is a BMW 5-series (F10). There is definitely a rolled up airbag right up to the top edge of the A-pillar, as I've taken this cover off before.

I'm not too familiar with the way in which airbags deploy etc. so advice will be appreciated smile

Not sure where you are running the wire from/to but as long as you do not put the wire across any part of the airbag it should not be a problem.

As above, as long as you don't run the cable across the airbag you'll be fine, I have several cables run in the same way in my E84

... That's directly on top of the side/curtain airbag.

Unless I want half a dashcam lodged in my face forever I won't bother routing the wire that way!

Thanks guys
