Veyron in car sat-nav crashed.

Sorry not a Bugatti.
I have one of the made in China imitation VW head units made by a company called Veyron,it has crashed. The message on the screen is....
The software performed an illegal instruction (MAIN).Sorry for any inconvenience.RAM 80768 kb.
I did not ask it to do anything illegal,I was trying to get to Brooklands museum.
I have e-mailed them but not got a reply,do you reckon unplugging it would reset it.

The Nav maps are normally on a NAV SD card in the front of the unit. You could try ejecting and reinserting this first.
Failing that, some of these units have a hole in the fascia for a paperclip or hairclip to reset the unit.
I've got an Android one (not Veyron) and it occasionally crashes on power up but if you leave it a couple of minutes it always recovers.

I'd bury itin the neighbours garden and when the police turn up asking about illegal instructions play dumb, deny all knowledge but say your neighbour has some strange comings and goings.
Cant bee too careful.
You think its spying on him? Sat Nav will only take him to army bases so it can take secret snaps with its reversing camera to beam back to China... Cant bee too careful.
It is back to English.
From what I have now read it must be a dodgy SD card.
Their web site says illegal copies will only last a certain amount of time. The ones supplied with the unit FOC are genuine ones so I dont know why the dealer would have put a snide one in.
I will ring them tomorrow.

It is still working after three and a half years and at the moment cant really justify the cost of changing it. But I will change it one day because it is not the best.
The sat-nav works now with a new sd card in but it is very hit and miss, the radio is the same, struggles to pick up stations. It is handy having Bluetooth.
What issues are you having, I personally wouldn't spend much trying to have it fixed.
If you don't have the instructions for it I can help you with them.
