When/how to sell a S6 drivetrain and ancillaries?

...looking for (constructive) views here. Choice is:

1) Advertise (on PH of course!) in advance of removing from the car so that potential buyers can hear/see the drivetrain running prior to being removed and checked over by an independent specialist?
2) Wait until it's removed and checked over before advertising so potential buyers can take away immediately?

Not selling and creating a fantastic piece of automotive art for the living room or office is, unfortunately, not an option.

(2005 4.0S engine and close ratio gearbox @ 31.5k miles)

any thoughts?

Out of interest, why are you selling the engine? Is the car it's in a write off or something?

Not at all. The car is in full working order, tip-top condition in fact!

Simon i would go with option 1 buyer can then try drivetrain & engine plus should get you a better price
