I am about to be in the market for a new toy and like Tuscans, T350's and Tamoras. My budget will allow me to buy a Tuscan circa 2001/2 with a rebuild or a 2003 T350 or Tamora without a re-build.

I would like to be able to sleep without too much worry so am interested in what people's experience is.

I am coming from a G33 which is RV8 powered and in engine and drivetrain terms is pretty reliable, just needs its annual service.

I will be doing about 5k miles a year in the toy, including a long continetal trip at once a year, the rest of the use will be driving around the Cotswolds and the odd business trip oop north

I don't presently have a Tiv & therefore cannot offer much advice on the experience front.
I am however in the market for either a Tuscan or a Cerb and have been reading lots.

You will have no doubt read about the issues with the S6. There seems to be no pattern as to when a rebuild will be required. There are a number of S6 engined cars running around that haven't as yet needed a rebuild. I understand that better quality parts were used after around 2003.
Me personally, if I do opt for a S6 car, I will want one with a rebuild and would have an inspection done. That's just me though.

Servicing is essential and the engine needs properly warming before opening the taps. Clutches tend to last circa 20 - 25k but there are no hard & fast rules. There will be many niggles.

The car that has been looked after and serviced on time! New engines may be better than old but only if its been looked after and (a) serviced (b) warmed up before giving it beans!

One with a TVR Power rebuild and warranty. Five years on their upgrades.

I might let mine go for the right price (4.3 with four years warranty left). A new project is in the offing and I can't have both.

Thing is, would the step up from a G33 to this be too much for you, boy?*

Step up? May be a little in terms of 0-60 and a bit more in terms of vmax, but a step back in handling terms. You see I am getting old, the G33 is too raw so I need something soft like a Tuscan tongue out

Seriously, yours looks great, its a colour thats on my shortlist. Does it have....aircon? TVR power are good, they have done mapping on the G33 and I would rate them highly as I know you Tuscan boys do. If your are serious, you can pm me, although my budget won't be set until thursday.
