It was noted at my cars last service that there was a fault code stored for Lambda 2, which obviously I want to replace. However which one is number 2, top or bottom one? Thanks.

The one that comes from the front 3 cyclinders is 1, which is the Top one in your immage.

The one you want is the bugger to get at -smile

Try a 17mm socket from memory, that has a groove cut out to let the wire out and short extention bar. Better buying a cheap long socket and cutting rather than dedicated Lambda remover.

Unplug it when connected to the laptop and see which signal drops? I always thought it was the top sensor.

Hmm, Jason at Str8six told me it was the lower one*, but when I looked at Graham Varleys pic below is appears that cylinders 4,5 and 6 would be the top one.

  • Or maybe he said the "back" one (not sure anymore). Guess I'll try the unplug and see method! Thanks all.
