My cam cover has a neoprene gasket which was already fitted when I purchased the car, but was thrown away whilst being serviced by the garage, and I am concerned that without it, water may leak into the spark plugs.

I am trying to find out who manufactured the original one and how I can purchase a replacement?

I don't want to replace the gasket with the black sealant, because up until now it has been a better and more practical solution.

Any information on the original supplier would be helpful, as the normal TVR supplier can't help.

Yes, correct.

Racing Green has got them. I use it as well with no problems at all...

Thanks for the information, but I think I should have stated it was the spark plug cover and not the cam cover as I aleardy have gasket for this.

Any further help would be apprciated.

have you got a standard sparkplug cover? Ie the one with Speed Six written in solid metal with the tvr logo lines going though it??

If so you just need to seal it with silicon based sealant.

It has an original TVR cam cover with a carbon fibre spark plug plate which had a neoprene gasket. I would like to renew this rather than using the black sealant adhesive.

Any idea where I can get a replacement neoprene spark plug cover gasket?

That'll be a special made by the last owner I'd guess. Make a new one is probably only option.

You could also finish it off with a set of stainless bolts.

I might have a set for sale in the classifieds....thumbup

Thanks guys.

If I can remember rightly this wasn't just a flat gasket as it had to accommodate the lugs and the spark plug leads so it looks like it was specifically made for the plate.

If I need to make one, does anyone know the neoprene specification I need and where can I source this from?

I use this:

Much less fun than squirting sealant all over the place but keeps the water out and removes the possibility of old sealant finding it's way into the top end.
