Mine is just the dull grey metal colour, have seen red and black ones that look amazing, is it something you can do yourself with special paint?

Powder coating is the most durable option. I'm having mine done at the moment in battle ship grey with body colour plug cover.

Had mine powder coated in candy apple red, with black plug cover; to expose the tvr logo on the plug cover I just rubbed it down with wet and dry and then a little autosol to protect it.
Looks great.
Mine cost 50.00, they cleaned and painted it for that, job is faultless.

I removed it myself, only other expense is some RTV sealant to re attach ( I used loctite 221 ) cost about 20.00. Alternatives are a Viton gasket from Power about 70.00.

Mines Red with a carbon fibre insert. (See profile pic) TVR Power are selling the coloured covers (Red/Black/Blue) for about £90. Getting yours coated costs about the same. The carbon plug cover with viton seal removes the need for silicone which looks a bit rough and adds a bit of bling.

IMO I would buy one from power and sell your old one, I got £50 for mine which will reduce the cost of changing it.

Jason at Str8six replaced mine on the service so there was no fitting charge, the casting is also slightly different as it has extra bits in the casting over the fingers that allow the oil to drip onto them. It was more expensive about £170. Not sure if this is the same design as power are selling. If you want to pay Southern prices RG had them up at £300 a while ago, they also do a viton seal that fits between the cover and the block which some people have changed over to.

I had this done at STR8SIX. I would really like to get the TVR done in a carbon finish, any suggestions?

Buy some of the 3M vinyl wrap stuff, warm it to fit the trim with a very sharp blade?. I am sure Bigrif cut one out of carbon sheet and stuck it on as an alternative.

Not sure the vinyl can take the heat, especially on the exhaust side of the cam cover.

Hi Diablos, only just seen this! Getting mine done at B&P Blastings in Newington, Kent. Ask for Jane or Les. They are very good and very reasonably priced.....hence VERY busy!
