I have posted this in the Cerbera bit but haven't have much response - can you lot help please?

Yesterday I drove a speed 6 (Cerb) for the first time. We used to own a 4.2 which I found very tiring and just too scary to drive on a daily basis. I have also driven a 5 litre Chimaera and we now have a 4 litre Chimaera.

To the point - I was amazed at how easy the S6 was to drive, it was like driving a 'normal' car. OK so it was a test drive and I was not flooring it, but even so I LOVED it!!

Is that how they feel to drive or was this one exceptional? I am sure that when it's pushed it needs 'driving' but I wonder what all you S6 owners think? Are they all like that?

Thanks Sarah

Yep, the Speed Six only bites where you would already change gear in a RV8 - beyond 4,5k rpm.
It's not recommended to test this in rainy weather conditions ...

I test drove a few AJP before I bought my Cerb having had a Tuscan MK1 SP6 a few years ago.

I bought a SP6.....It just felt smoother and more drivable than any of the AJP I drove, Ive had it 10 months now, no issues, and just completed a 450 mile drive around Scotland.

The Speed Six is a great engine.

I agree - it's a very smooth drive, mainly due to the lack of torque below 3500 rpm. Far easier to hustle along in the wet than my old Chimaera and much more fun with such a wide rev range.
I do occasionally miss the instant torque of the RV8 but get that S6 screaming and it's just soooo addictive!

Peak torque on my old Chim 500 was 320 lb/ft and on my T350 is just over 300 lb/ft. Yes the T350 makes peak torque higher up the rev range but truthfully I don't miss it as it pulls strongly from about 1800 rpm upwards. My T350 is so much quicker than my old Chim 500 despite the the torque curve differences and my old chim was no slouch making just shy of 300 bhp.

S6 such a pleasure to drive, will happily pootle along behind those Nissan Micra's (even if your not happy to). When given the space, it will come to life, and put that silly grin on your face.

Only had mine a short time, and loving it more each day.

i'd have to agree with all this. my 4.2 cerb was hard work in heavy traffic, and that was when i was 26. my tamora is much happier, but it's still no xj6 when you get in a proper gridlock like the blackwall tunnel closure caused yesterday.
