Roller Bearing Throttle Bodies Fitted (and a few other bits!
Discussion
This week has been blood sweat and tears, had some time off to put her back together.
New fuel filter fitted, brand new marine fuel hose fitted from the tank to pump, new hose from pump to filter, drilled and tapped chassis and stainless nuts, bolts and fittings all round. That little lot was a pain in the *ss, snapped rusty bolts, split fuel hoses, fuel leaks etc which bloody sting on cut hands etc . But, at least its all done Also did rear wishbone bushes, they were a b*llache too! Going to have the geo done this afternoon at TVR Power.
Throttle bodies fitted Wednesday. Went very well until i stripped the thread on the idle adjuster arm re-tapped for an m6 bolt in the end, was easier Also fitted new throttle pots as it seemed daft not too whilst i was doing this mod.
As i put the car back together i did feel kinda nervous they wouldnt solve the problem!! Well, i am really, really happy and relieved to say it has made a real difference. The car feels fantastic. Idle is quiet and very stable, pick up is so clean and crisp, it sounds and pulls silky smooth now. I am actually able to leave in a higher gear when cruising now, she just seems so much happier to pull from low revs. All hints of hesitation gone. I havent had chance to open her up at all with the weather, so not sure how she will be at full throttle, buts if its snything like light throttle it we be fantastic So anyone considering this but not taken the plunge....can recommend!

Hands are bloody sore. Managed to slice two fingers on the under tray yesterday trying to reach the idle bolt that i dropped. That thing is sharp...i didnt realise until i went to put the bolt back it and my hand was pouring with blood....
They are also engrained with oil, muck and general debris, oh well it was worth it!!
Thanks for the tip on the Toe in - will ask that Dom does it as you say - and dont worry i will give as good as i get

Just to add to this, I finally got round to machining mine last week and rebuilt and refitted them today.
After abit of tweeking to get the throttles balanced right, the idle is steady and the pick up is much better.
While driving, as Rob says, it feels smoother and will happily pull from idle in any gear you want. More importantly, the top end miss has gone! it finally pulls all the way round. It will now spin up at the top end of 2nd which it never did and will carry on spining into 3rd in the dry.
