FFF Engine Map

Please see attached graphs from last weekend. Paul from austec racing organised the mapping. Very pleased with the result. It's very smooth and progressive power.

Please feel free to comment!

Err rather low tbh. I know he engine might be smooth but the power is what I made with a STD 4.0 at austec. No wonder RG have been cagey... Or can u expand on your specs, equal length manifolds, omex ecu etc????

Wow ! That is low, I thought the numbers would be more than that confused The standard Power re-build I had in my Tuscan gave better power than that.
Thanks for posting up the figures thumbup

Thanks for posting that up; been waiting to see the FFF figures for ages!

Quite surprised that it's putting out less than what TVR originally quoted for a Sag 4.0 @ 380bhp. I know it's more reliable and quieter etc. but it just doesn't seem right. I thought RG were looking for 400bhp+?

How can the max. power rpm be different between wheels and flywheel?

Max power - wheels - 325.9bhp @ 6781rpm
Max power - engine - 363.7bhp @ 7490rpm

confused

Yes, bit baffled by the wheels/engine figures??? 360 bhp is what you'd expect from a standard 3.6 ltr, not a Sagaris/S spec. 4.0 ltr.

I hope the engine is Lexus smooth and quiet? Are you going to raise the ride height, fit softer suspension and 16" wheels? Would make a nice comfy and quiet boulevard cruiser. wink

Good man for posting the info. thumbup

Shirley 325.9 rwhp is 374 bhp ?? I to, am a bit confused about the different readings.
OP, questions, does your engine feel more powerful now?
Were you quoted a power increase in exchange for your hard earned?

So long as your happy, job donesmile

Erm no, I've done more than my fair share of that in the past. I would if I wanted my engine hp figures to be transparent, and many times in the past I have driven or trailered my own modded cars to SurreyRR to prove my own numbers were beyond critcism.. and in every case they made more than I was claiming for them smile

It would be interesting to have a :

std factory 4litre v
std tvr power 4 litre v
std FFF 4 litre v
std tvr power 4.3 v
performance modded tvr power 4.3

all on the same rollers on the same day. doubt that will ever happen though.

I am sure Dom would not mind a RR day with the selection of SP 6 engine cars you mention, it would be interesting.
Trouble is though, as its Power’s RR, the cynics amongst us would say, its fixed etc etc, as would more likely happen if RG had a RR etc.
Even an independent would suffer a similar fete I feel, if someone is not happy with there power figures, there likely to say, well its because of this, that etc.
Lee, of Tamora FFF fame, did try to organise a 30mph to 100mph day, but no suitable venue could be found.
I think a 30 to 100 test would be the best way of showing what real world “grunt” this car, that car is pushing out. Again though this is down to variables, for instance:
My 4.3 in 2nd gear at 30 mph on normal road tyres on a normal road, will spin the rears easily if I dump the loud pedal where as if on say something like 888 track day tyres that have been pre-warmed on a grippy piece of tarmac would most likely just grip and go.
As you see, again, too many variables.
If its possible to get a selection of SP6 Engined TVR’s all together, all on normal road tyres, I would say this is the Only way of seeing which motor has the most grunt.
It would be fun, and not to be taken seriously.

At the end of the day, if your happy with your motor, who gives a damsmile

I cant do the 12th, as I have one of my Open days for the Tanks I sell.
