For those that have done this or have had it done, do you know the size of the bearings used?

Thanks for the info, im not after it doing I just want the sizes. I will give them a ring but i doubt they will tell me as they have nothing to gain just money to loose out on.

The early throttle bodies are not bushed so the spindle wears the alloy body of the casing, this creates plays and allows the spidles to move seperatly, whoch can cause general bad running or the high rev miss alot of speed sixes get.

The mod, is when proper roller bearings are fitted, these require the throttle body casings machining to take the new bearing.

Anyone know what year the new and improved bushes were fitted?

Im not sure, i did concider trying to pick up a later set which are bushed but thought while they are off I may as well do the job properly. Should see better throttle cable life too!

I'm sure I read a post by Dreadnought saying they had tried bearings but had problems and changed to bushes. Maybe worth a search as there was some discussion about materials.

jason does do a bearing job of it. Never asked the price.

Id be keen on hearing more. However i expect there are many companies that can do this for you, machine shops? bearing shops?

Jason did mine as well after earlier rebuilding the engine.
Great improvement.
I remember it was commented that TVR tried bearings but decided that bushes were the best solution but I am happy to go with Jasons advise.
He was a Speed Six Engineer at TVR, was aware of all the problems, all of the decisions with regard saving money on correction work etc and so when he says bearings are the way to go I am happy with the money I spent.
Unfortunately wrote off said Tuscan earlier this year so who ever has recovered it to repair has a very good rebuilt engine all round.

Recently did this mod myself on a spare set of throttle bodies, just waiting to fit to the engine now. Bearings were £2.68 each plus vat. 8mm bore x 16mm o/d x 6mm wide sealed rollers.

I have photo's but never got round to learning the tecky bit on posting them.
Can e-mail them if someone's interested.
