When my Tamora gets hot and both engine fans come on, it starts to pink. I'm 95% sure that the second fan coming on is knocking the timing out(and its only when the second fan is on).
Its not very often a problem in this country but when I'm abroad or on track it causes a problem.
Has anyone had this or able to give advice?
Thanks in advance!

If you don't fit one, yes very!!

Cost me new pistons and could have been the block too!

£150 I think

I`ve been told its fairly common for "factory standard" ECU's to pink..

My Sagaris does it too but I usually drop a bit of octane boaster in - only happens when it gets to sit in alot of traffic and get ultra hot.

I`m tempted by the ECU tho biggrin

Graham - if you take it easy during these times (i.e. no real acceleration) is there still detonation occuring? (i.e. when u can`t hear it..)

no.

DET can only occur at full load, the ignition map is either too advanced, or the fuelling is too lean.

I have spoken to TVR Power and they said that if I bring the car to them they will reprogram the chip for £150 and the problem will be solved. Oh and they did confirm that it is the second fan that is knocking the timing out. Its going in next week.
Thanks for the advice!
