Have been searching past threads as I know it has been brought up before but still cant find it. Could someone refresh my memory on the max revs(hard line) for the speed six. I currently have my lights set at 5500, 6000 and 6500 rpm (green orange red) which seems sensible but dint really want to push any higher, although in first I do tend to get near 7000rpm just due to the pure speed off acc. (I have a Dulfords rebuild with special cams)

Surely Dulfords will be the best folk to advise then surely - us folk not knowing the characteristics of the new cams and all....Cheers G
Best bet is to go for a rolling road session (if engine is run in now) as this will give you the most accurate settings and also show up any issues with fuelling or ignition.
On my 4litre S (2004) I found the power peaked around 6300rpm and started to roll off fairly quickly from around 6700. Peak torque was flat from around 5800 and again dropped off from about 6600, so the obvious shift light settings were 5800, 6300 and 6700 and I know I am getting the best out of the engine if I light up amber but change before red. Well worth £20 - £30 on a dyno day, especially when you see the nice smooth lines indicating all is well with everything.

most I could get from my Saggy was 7500.
I haven't attempted to see whether the Tuscan (S, ie the same engine) will go over that yet.
However power does not tail off after 7000, that's subjectively and confirmed by dyno. The 4.0 S engine does it's best work above 5k and pulls very hard past 7.
Peak power was around the 7k mark but neither curve drops much beyond that. If any 'S' engine feels weak much beyond 6k I'd have it looked at.
