my tuscan is due for its 12,000 mile service, i have had lots of different quotes ranging from £800 to £500. including tappet adjustments. i have used a company in sussex, but was not pleased with their service last time. a company in blackpool are the cheapest and the furthest!!! im in KENT.
so i thought why not ask in here if any one knows of a tvr dealer in the kent/essex/ areas. i dont mind travelling for the right garage. its quality of service im looking for so any input would be helpful, thanks.

Agree with Jason at STR8SIX, but Oxford is not quite Kent/Essex.

I'm based in central Kent and can recommend Austec or Racing Green as I have used them both.
Neither are in Kent or Essex but do have very good and close railway links.
Alternatively if you’re handy with a spanner you should consider servicing it yourself, they really aren’t that complicated a car and engine to work on.
(They can't be if i've managed it)
The tappet adjustment is probably the hardest/worst job to do, the engine has to be stone cold and care is needed when removing, measuring and replacing the shims which is quite time consuming. Other than that it’s all fairly standard stuff.

Another vote for Jason at STR8Six. Sometimes the extra drive is worth the piece of mind.
He may do pick ups too.

Picked mine up from nr Croydon for 30 quid.

The car has never run as well as it does now, since a service at str8six.

That's good to know. Some owners may not like the fact that Jason and his guys, in my experience, will flag absolutely everything that may need attention with the car. It's not an attempt to get you to part with more money, just being really thorough and professional. You then choose what you have done.

As an aside, when I spun my Tuscan backwards down into a pine forest, Jason came and pulled me out with his truck to minimise any extra damage. He's the sole reason I kept my car, knowing that it could be made reliable and without any feeling of being ripped off.

I'm in Kent and send mine in to Austec, been really pleased with them so far, good work and no fuss and not bad with the price.

Go see Jason. There is no other option.
