I need to reset the closed throttle position from the ecu tool menu, does the engine need to be running to do this?

If Vista works as windows XP it is possible to tell the OS the emulate an earlier version for the ecudiags.exe file. In XP it is done like this:

1. Open the file explorer
2. Go to the directory where you have the ecudiags.exe file
3. Right click on the file and choose preferences, a dialog window will open
4. Choose compability
5. choose which version of windows that should be emulated

im running the software on vista, no problems

im also using a usb adapter.

if ur using vista then id guess u wont have a serial port so you will need a usb adapter, got mine from novatech ( wasted a day using a maplins item, couldnt connect to car, plugged the novatech one in and worked straight away!!)

make sure you set the usb adapter to COM 1

also, in the main ecudiags screen, press F10 and set the baud rate to 4800, ( doesnt work on the other rates available)

if u get stuck PM me.
