Just put new chains on and the scavenge pump chain seems too tight.Grahams manual (brilliant)says I need 10mm of free play on longest run,but the best I can get is 5mm at most. There is no adjustment on pump sprocket,so apart from putting original chain back on (which was ok anyway)or trying another new chain from a different supplier,Iam reluctant to run it as is.Has anyone else had this problem?Regards,Steve.

Have you counted the links to ensure it has the same as the old one?

Checked links on both chains, both 26,tried them side by side and they doesn't look any difference.Guessing the difference in length would only be slight to give an extra 5mm free play anyway.Tried original chain back on and it was ok.Going to order another new chain from a different supplier tomorrow and give that a try.

Found out today from very helpful racing green chap, that to adjust scavenge pump chain, you need to move sump sideways.I had to take flywheel off to remove rear crank seal housing, then remove sump to clean off sealant.Re-sealed sump, chain back on,set tension, tightened sump bolts and all is now ok.Mine had no dowels in sump mouting face which made it possible to get some sideways movement.
