Got a harmonic puller, rigged it up and bent it alot (damper didnt move), so braced it, now bent rachet handle! What am i doing wrong?

Is there some other retaining device that ive missed?

do you use the centring bit on the end?

cheers

Hi james,

I used a puller from Machinemart which cost less than £10 and it worked fine.

They are pigs and can be on very tight.

It will take some force but will come. I used my own centre bit as the bolt on mine would have gone inside the crank shaft bolt hole and damaged the threads.

Good luck,

Richard.

I had the same problem, broke 3 cheap pulley removers, ie machine mart etc

had to use a hydraulic puller in the end, and lots of heat, ended up destroying the balancer.

try tapping the puller with a hammer when its under load,

i think its luck of the draw, some seem to come off ok and some are pretty much welded on.

good luck
