just removed the scavange pump, started to come out quite freely, but about 5mm out started to bind until it was all the way out, cant see anything obvious, all the shafts are straight, bearings are fine, when the pump is back in and home feels tight to turn.

has anyone come across this before?

has anyone got a sump off, could the feel what the pump is like to turn?

or use a low scale torque wrench and measure at what point the pump turns please?

Mine was easy hand turn with sprocket on.

Any pickup marks on the sump casting?

I took mine out and the bearing was gone. Couldn't get the last sproket off the shatf and it was hard to turn.

The bearings do go but they are replaceable as a single item.

Cheers,

Richard.

Richard90, did you find this out from inspection, damage or something else?

the engine bounced a shim and it found it's way to the scavenge pump, jammed it and snapped the chain!

Have you managed to get it out yet?

Cheers,

Richard.

Are the rubber seals replaceble or is a new bearing required?

I ordered a new bearing, which didn't come with a rubbar seal. I then relasized I needed a new complete pump so not sure if you can buy the seals alone.

Have a look on Clever Trevor or Racing Green.

Cheers,

Richard.

New pump for a rubber seal sounds a bit excessive!! Hope i can find one somewhere!
