Any recommendations for an affordable tool to do this i.e. less than going to a dealer?

Would you not need two of those? I have read you can use vacuum gauges too but i could not see anyway to connect tot he throttle boy without alot of messing about.

You do not need two, just make sure that you clean the throttle bodies first and then adjust to get all balanced, trial and error after measuring all. You may have to make an extention for the one closest to the bulk head. Just be careful taking off airbox that you do not drop the spacers. (Suggest a cable tie round them with the long piece being held onto, also helps fitting back in!)

Then adjust idle, as it will potentially move with balance.

Good luck.

What about using a Laptop to set zero positions ?

- And is the procedure written down anywhere ?

You need a laptop connected to clear the adaptives once done, but the zero throttle reading is reset each time you turn the ignition on.
