Raceproved Speed Six Cam Cover
Discussion
Has anyone fitted one of these to their Speed Six? It sounds good from the info on Raceproved Ltds website but the search on here doesn't bring up anything. If it does what they say I'd have thought more people would use them?

It may be that most folk prefer to wait untill, if or when, their Speed Six goes bang, before addressing the top end lubriction issue's on their engines. Some engines that are driven vey regularly and treated very gently may never need attention. For the others, when rebuild time comes around, most rebuilders of note, modify the oil ways within the block to try and improve the flow of oil to the head. It sometimes appears that many posters on Piston heads wear their rebuilds as badges of honour or rites of passage to become accepted as proper TVR afficianado's.
I have run the Raceproved Cam Cover for several years now and been extremely pleased with it. My Vehicle is used purely as a plaything often being left for a number of weeks before being used. The Cam Cover System works by bringing the engine up to full oil pressure before the car is allowed to start and then continuosly lubricating the valvegear by spraying oil directly onto them from spray bars positioned overhead. It is a very thouroughly researched, designed and engineered product, typical of the quality products the Raceproved people sell.
You pays your money and you makes your choices, some folk trust to luck, some folk shell out £6K plus for a rebuild when their luck runs out, some folk like myself have shelled out somewhat less in the hope of preventing the "almost" inevitable.
My engine hasnt gone pop yet, and it is my own personal view that if the Cam Cover was more widely used, there would be significantly fewer broken Speed Sixes sitting in the compounds of the rebuilders.
I shall be going to the Chatsworth meet next week and would be more than happy to show anyone who is interested around my car. In past years the Raceproved people have also been regular attendee's at Chatsworth, it may well be they may be that they are going this year, perhaps drop them an email if you fancy learning more.

yes it would work with the uprated pump i have just fitted one to my car
it uses a seperate electric pump to presurise the system before starting

You can give Jason at Str8six a call and have a chat about the new cam cover with the castings that drip oil onto the cams. Doesn't pre oil but provides better oil flow to the cam lobes, only costs £180.
Dry top end can be resolved by just taking the car for a half an hour drive a couple of times a week. I use mine as a daily driver as they seem to like this more.
