Why would there be any significant weight difference between a 3.6 and 4.0?

I'm sure there's not much of a difference (if any), but just wanted to stress the point that I'm not bothered if someone gives me the weight of a 4.0 or 3.6... either is just tickety-boo.

IIRC we measured the engine, with all ancilliaries and gearbox at 198kg...

Didn't get to measure them apart though...

The SP6 engine weighs approx 200kg if my memory serves me correctly from previous threads.

S6 is heavier but 200kgs sounds a lot. V8 123kg for 4.5 with alternator. Guess maybe the smaller bearings on the 4.2 makes it 2kg lighter?
