Got the bottom pulley and front casing off no problem, cam is out and i hit the first problem.

I have removed the end plug at the front and the grub screw in the side of the head but the shaft wont budge, i have looked all around for another but cant find one.

What am i missing, having refered to the manual (Grahams sag manual), from my interpritation, the inlet has one in the side and the exhaust has one in the end. I have checked all round the back with a mirror and nothing.

Found the last grub screw thanks to Richard90, i had tried the said hole but because some idiot has messed the hex up the allen key would not go in. Gave it a tap and it went in and its now out.

Just to confirm for anyone else searching its in the hole closest to the bulkhead, that one of the cam cover bolts also uses.

Having trouble with my exhaust follower shaft, got the grub screw out of the top rear (same hole as cam cover bolt). It still wont budge, inlet cam out really easily. Is there ment to be a grub screw in the back end as well ( see pic). If not any ideas!??

Cheers

hi,

the grub screw is not in the end where you point, it beneth the bolt at the end which holds the cam cover on.

You need to remove the bolt/ threaded bar which is screwed into the head and you will find it down there.

The Inlet side is in the same place.

Cheers,

Richard.

HI,

Just trying to get the exhaust follower shaft out at the moment, to change a scored follower, and have encounter the same problem.

Can't find the screw that is holding it in place. I have removed all of the cam cover studs above the follower but can't find the grub screw in any of the holes.

Which one is it meant to be in?

Hope someone can help

Ian

if you zoom in on the photo above you can see the grub screw standing up about 6mm above the head in the corner just above the yellow arrow

Thanks for that, found it under some black silicon.

Tried to get it out and in the end decided just to leave it. I was just going to check the follower shaft while the head was off but I managed to slid the followers along to the side instead.
