Hi Guys,

Im new and have been doing alot of reading. Looking to migrate from the Porsche over to a TVR.

Originally looked at the Cerbera and the Tuscan however my mind is swaying towards the Tuscan slightly due to the fact you can take the roof off and the mad looks. Im 23 and do not really need 4 seats yet (i know i would probably miss the roof off action of a vert in the summer too jester )

However my question is about engines:

What are the differences regarding reliabilty, service costs etc?
Why does the Speed Six have a forum and not the AJP8?

Thanks in advance guys

The speed six engine has had issues (to say the least), that's probably why it's ended up having its own forum. However, I believe that some of the more recent engine rebuild claim to have overcome most of the issues - TVR Power are offering a 3 year warranty these days, which has to be reassuring. Also, I was chatting with a local specialist and ex-dealer the other day who stated that he knew of no problems with the post 2003 engines.

Good luck!

I came to TVR via Porsche. These cars are chalk and cheese. Best to test drive a few, as all TVR's are different whilst most Porsche's have the same 'feel'.
