That's an interesting engine. I love the solution for the lubrication with 7 stage pump. Every single cylinder has its own pump so no oil starvation. Could something like that be done for Speed Six?

Configuration : In-line 6, DOHC
Displacement : 300 cubic inches / 5.0 liters
Bore : 4.090” / 103.89mm
Stroke : 3.858” / 97.99mm
Peak Horsepower : 480 @ 7,000 rpm
Peak Torque : 420 @ 5,500 rpm
Weight : 363 lbs / 164.65kg
Induction : Independant Runner (IR)
Fuel System : MoTeC engine management
Fuel Requirement : 92 octane street fuel
Oil System : Dry sump with 7 stage Barnes pump
Length : 38.0” / 96.52cm (without transmission)
Width : 24.0” / 59.69cm
Height : 32.0” / 81.28cm
(crank CL to top) : 19.5" / 49.53cm
(crank CL to bottom) : 4.0" / 10.16cm
Mounts : Small Block Chevy rear, custom front

Copy of the text from their page.

"This engine was originally designed by General Motors as a thoroughbred racing engine. Its purpose was to prove the reliability and power potential of their production in-line 6-cylinder engines used in various truck and SUV platforms. Dubbed the “L6”, this engine powered the winning trucks at Pike’s Peak and in Off-Road desert racing. This engine shares no components with, and bares little resemblance to the production engine. Ryan Falconer Racing Engines now owns this unique powerplant and will be manufacturing it in limited quantities for a variety of applications."

Yes its a hefty price for an engine. But its a work of art. Only the 7 stage pump probably cost half the SP6 rebuild.

It's interesting that apart from the BMW and the TVR S6 engines there are very few high performance six in line lumps out there.

They need turbos for any kind of power so I will qualify with NA engines.

it's sad such a piece of art should be fed with 92 octane fuel which gives 480hp

how many hp would it be with a 98 octane fuel and an adaptative map...
