No OIl pressure following Oil Change
Discussion
Hi,
I've just changed the oil and filter on my Tuscan speed 6. I toped up the oil tank, started the car and the pressure was really good.
I took it on a little road test, gentle driving. After about 10-15 mins the pressure dropped to Zero so I stopped the eingine.
I towed her the 500mm home (with police escort!), started her up and oil pressure returned for about 10 secs, then dropped to zero. This repeted another 2 times. I checked the dipstock and no oil level showed. TYhe engine was still hot(ish), I ran again for 5-10 secs, stopped and quickly checked the level, still nothing on the dip stick.
I topped up till I ran out of oil and still nothing, I've now put 10L in!
There is now no oil pressure, if I crank the engine no oil squrts out of the return pipe to the oil tank and there is no oil showing on the dip stick.
I'm aware that you might have to "prime" the pump following an oil change and mine was empty for a few days however there was good pressure for at least 15 mins following the change.
Any help, much appreciated!
Cheers,
Richard.

I've drained the Oil from the tank tonight and there was only about 1/2 litre in the tank. It sounds like, after talking to the guy's at Racing Green that the scavenge pump has gone.
I'd checked the compression pressure's a little while ago and they looked good so I don't think it's the head. There is no oil in the water/ water in the oil.
I'm going to try to get the front cover off the engine to see if I can confirm the scavenge pump/ chain has gone before removining the engine.
Thanks for the pointers guy's, it's looking like I've got enough to keep me busy for a few nights!
Cheers,
Richard.

Belive it or not that's an engine out job...seriously ! The bolt that holds the end flywheel thingy on is sooooo long that once undone it hits one of the chassis cross-members and prevents further disassembly. I tried it about 1 week ago and gave up. Tried jacking up the engine a bit on the mounts...you just cant get enough movement to clear the chassis :-(I'd checked the compression pressure's a little while ago and they looked good so I don't think it's the head.
